Hello my name Is, Matthew Demers
This painting is from the young people’s collection at the Farnsworth — it’s my somewhat subtle way of admitting that I like graffiti. Yes, it’s illegal. No, I wouldn’t want it showing up on my own personal property. Or public property. Or anywhere it isn’t “supposed” to be, for that matter. But I do appreciate it as a form of expression. Graffiti: Public Art or Public Nuisance? I don’t know, I don’t have any solutions. I just like it is all.
Anyhoo… This painting is about all I can manage today. Its title seems somehow appropriate. Do you ever have those days where your heart and brain are competing for dominance and the battle is so fierce that you hardly know your name anymore? No? That’s just me? Huh. I’ve said too much, haven’t I? Ok, then. Move along, people. No gawking. Nothing to see here…

You crack me up – your name is Susan, and you’re one totally awesome chick! And I love the graffiti – just the art of it though. I’ve seen some that leaves me wondering why the “artist” can’t find a better canvas.
