Hey, did you notice it’s snowing? WordPress brought back the blog snow from last year, so it will snow here at Susie Songbird all through December! Now if only we’d get a substantial enough snowfall in real life for the College to close… Ah, well, can’t have everything, I guess.
Ok, on with the titular “funny”…

Hee, hee, hee! He’s a snowman, so the blowdryer will melt him! Ha! Ok. Yeah. I’m easily amused.
Something strange is going on with me right now… Last year at this time, I was knee deep in decorations and planning for the Christmas baking marathon, all the while feeling pretty Scroogey and not in the spirit of the season. This year, I’ve barely started my shopping, can’t decorate my house (Hell, I can’t even clean my house, let alone decorate! Thank you, Kitchen Renovation. You certainly know how to overstay your welcome.) and haven’t given more than a passing thought to Christmas baking. And yet, somehow, I feel more “in the spirit” than I have for the past couple Christmases. Frankly, I don’t understand it in the least. But who am I to argue? I’m off to play some insipid Christmas music and cheerfully help (Cheerfully?! Are we still talking about me?) plan my little office Christmas party. Potluck — woo, hoo!
Seriously. Who am I and what have I done with my normal self?
Anyway, back soon with more Christmas funny…

“And yet, somehow, I feel more “in the spirit” than I have for the past couple Christmases. “
Might I gently and quietly suggest that the reason might, perhaps be that you simply are not able to overburden yourself with expectations of decorating/shopping/baking spectacularity?
And now, I’m going back to sanding drywall compound…
…says the guy who usually expects me to do ALL the Christmas decorating/shopping/baking. Might I gently and quietly suggest you do your own Christmas preparation?
